If you get Idol winner Kelly Clarkson and Olympian Kelly Clark confused you’re a complete moron
Wall Street Journal – Kelly Clark is pretty famous. The American snowboarder is a four-time Winter Olympian with two medals in the women’s halfpipe, and is likely to win another medal in Wednesday’s final. But Clark is not “American Idol” famous. That explains why it says atop Clark’s Wikipedia page: “Not to be confused with Kelly Clarkson.” Nonetheless, Clark often is confused with Clarkson — especially on Twitter. “I would say at least five times a week I get some pretty funny Kelly Clarkson misinterpretations, like, ‘I love your music’ or ‘Congratulations on getting married!’” Clark said. “I’m like, ‘This is amazing.’”
Kelly Clarkson and Kelly Clark have a lot in common.
-They’re both winners
-They’re both named Kelly
-They both have Clark in their last name
-They both pee sitting down
That’s about it. Kelly Clarkson won the first American Idol, is super hot and produces songs that dudes love even if they won’t admit to it. Kelly Clark is a snowboarder and you wouldn’t be able to pick her out of a lineup unless you were some sort of X-Games nutbag.
So people don’t actually get these two confused, right? And when I say people, I mean old people. Are old people even on Twitter?
If you go to Twitter and type “Kelly Clark” the first person that pops up is American Idol’s inaugural winner, but it shouldn’t be that hard to find the snowboarder considering SHE’S THE NEXT NAME ON THE LIST.
The one thing I can believe is the radio station screwing up and using the wrong Twitter handle. It’s hard not to find an FM radio station that isn’t run by some clueless intern who just doesn’t care. But these other people have no excuse, because one of these people looks like this:
And the other looks like this:
PS In case you were having trouble, the top picture is Kelly Clark and the bottom is Kelly Clarkson.
