The Monarchy Ends – No. 10: Majesty Rose

And I feel guilt already.

And I feel guilt already.

REASONS: This is a case of a contestant not being fit for American Idol. Her vibe doesn’t flow with the show. If she bangs out soft rock covers, America will get bored; she showed in her performance of “Happy” that she doesn’t have the voice to carry a high-paced, upbeat song. Plus she needs a WOW moment. And I don’t know if she’s got it in her if she doesn’t pick the right song. She’s just so damn nice I feel like a horrible person picking her here. Good news is she’ll be on the tour.
WHY WE’RE IDIOTS: She ends up being a silent killer. She’s never good enough that the judges shower her in lavish praise, but she’s never bad enough that she ends up in the bottom three. She just keeps trudging along, smiling, and surviving. That’s how Kris Allen did so well.
WHY WE’RE NOT: Her only “wow” moment was when she did Heist in Hollywood week and that was only a “Wow” moment because it isn’t the type of group you normally hear covered on Idol. She won’t have the voice to stand out against the big voices that are left and isn’t the musician the rest of the guys are.
WHY WE’RE ROOTING FOR HER: She’s just quirky enough that it’s cute and not annoying like Zooey Deschanel.
